Position Summary Information

General Information

University Unions, a department within Student Affairs at James Madison University is accepting applications for a Fiscal Technician.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Serve as a Fiscal Technician for the front-end budgeted groups on campus by reconciling a small purchase credit card on a monthly basis.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate records in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia’s financial procedures.
- Responsible for entering payroll of numerous student employees into the PeopleSoft system according to Human Resources and Payroll guidelines.
- Prepare deposits for timely processing.
- Use the eVA state procurement system for ordering supplies.
- Perform other office duties as assigned including but not limited to sorting mail, answering telephone phones and making copies.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
- Excellent customer service skills, preferred prior work with students.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Financial experience such as credit card reconciliation, budgeting and accounts payable/receivable.
-Excellent attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills.
-Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

Condition(s) of Employment

This is a part-time wage position working an average of 29 hours per week over the course of a calendar year with no benefits. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
