Position Summary Information

General Information

James Madison University’s Facilities Management is seeking two full-time, night shift Housekeeping Workers. The shift is Sunday – Thursday, 10:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

Duties and Responsibilities

Perform regular and special cleaning of assigned areas using manual tools and power equipment such as buffers, vacuums and auto scrubbers; understand and practice all university safety procedures, particularly as they relate to equipment operation and chemical use; and participate in the university’s trash/recycling program.

Qualifications

Experience performing a variety of cleaning tasks; ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform physically demanding job duties; ability to work with industrial-strength chemicals and equipment including buffers, scrubbers and waxers; ability to clean materials containing blood borne pathogens; effective time-management skills; attention to detail and basic customer service aptitude. Positive interpersonal skills and willingness to work cooperatively in a team environment are essential.
