General Information

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at James Madison University invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Statistics starting from August 2018. The department offers a B.S. degree with a major in Statistics, minor in Statistics, and is in the process of developing a minor in Data Science.

Duties and Responsibilities

Faculty teach introductory statistics and upper level statistics courses in support of statistics major and minor programs, as well as other mathematics courses related to their interests. Other priorities include consulting with faculty and students in other disciplines and working with undergraduates in research.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in statistics or related area, demonstrated ability in teaching, and demonstrated potential in scholarship. Preference will be given to candidates with an interest in applied statistics, data science, research with undergraduate students, and who demonstrate experience in implementing innovative pedagogies and learning technologies.
