Position Summary Information

General Information

The Housing Office is looking for a Student Assistant who is willing to work 15 – 20 hours each week during business hours of 9 am – noon and 1 pm – 5 pm, Monday through Friday during the academic year. Additionally, the Student Assistant will need to work beginning the first week in August until the start of the fall semester.

For the fall semester, coverage is needed for the following shifts: Monday 9 am – noon, Wednesday 9 am – noon, and Friday 9 am – noon and 1 pm – 5 pm. Applicants who cannot cover at least two of these shifts will not be considered at this time.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Provide quality customer service to walk in visitors and phone customers
-Data entry
-Word processing
-Scheduling appointments
-Collating and filing
-Completing errands to various locations on campus
-Completing general office projects

It is imperative that the Student Assistant becomes knowledgeable of Residence Life policies and procedures.

The Student Assistant for the Housing Office in the Office of Residence Life must provide quality customer service to walk in visitors and phone customers.

The employee will be responsible for data entry and review, word processing, general office projects, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

-Should be proficient in Microsoft suite, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access.
-Customer service experience

Conditions of Employment

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
