Position Summary Information

General Information

James Madison University is seeking two part-time Wage Purchasing / Delivery Specialists. These positions work Monday through Friday during normal business hours.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position’s primary responsibility is to obtain goods within the geographical area of Rockingham County, but on occasion will be tasked to obtain goods outside the area. This position’s secondary responsibility will be to assist Storeroom staff with internal orders when directed to do so.

Other responsibilities include but not limited to verifying orders for completeness, constructing route for the day, placing orders, inspecting products for damage and accountability, reconciling charges, processing product returns and performing data entry into Microsoft Excel and the Commonwealth of Virginia’s “eVA” system.

Qualifications

Working computer knowledge that includes basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook. Applicants must be customer focused and able to work within a busy office environment where multiple priorities exist. Being a team player is a must. Applicants need to be detailed oriented and able to communicate in a professional manner (both orally and in writing) with internal and external stakeholders. Mechanical/parts knowledge among a variety of trades is a plus. Knowledge of the Commonwealth of Virginia’s “eVA” system is also a plus. Applicants must be at least 19 years old with a valid driver’s license.

Condition(s) of Employment

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.

These are part-time wage positions working between 25-29 hours per week, with a maximum of 1,500 hours worked over the course of a calendar year with no benefits.
