Position Summary Information

General Information

The Center for Entrepreneurship (CFE) at James Madison University is accepting applications for an Operations Assistant to manage the daily operations of the CFE to include scheduling, event planning, communications and administrative support. The successful candidate will serve as the first line of customer service and support for the CFE program and will network with the community as appropriate to build relationships for the CFE.

Duties and Responsibilities

Program Operations:
Manages processes and workflow related to all expenditures for the CFE activities; arranges travel for the CFE activities; coordinates purchases for participants in the CFE programs; performs fiscal responsibilities necessary to manage program operations following university guidelines; fields questions as needed and provides information about and directions to appropriate resources.

Event Management:
Assists the executive director with planning activities for the CFE; coordinates space and other reservations for the CFE events; coordinates payments and paperwork for the CFE events; manages registration and related activities for events and works with the executive director to plan and manage advisory board events.

Integrated Marketing Support:
Works with Director of Integrated Marketing to maintain website and manages social media for the CFE.

Qualifications

Strong interpersonal skills that demonstrate respect for others, support for department and organizational goals. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously (i.e., project management skills). Ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders including entrepreneurs, students and faculty from across the campus community. Basic knowledge of computer and other office machines. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet appropriate deadlines.

Proficient software skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), email and internet; ability to manage and manipulate data in Excel for reporting purposes; experience with Student Administration (SA) system, PeopleSoft, AiM, eVA and Chrome.
