Position Summary Information

General Information

Box Office Student Assistant sells tickets and prepares reports for ticketed performances in five venues for The Forbes Center for the Performing Arts. Must be able to work both day and evening hours (at least 4 nights per week) including weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide point of sale computer ticketing sales for all performances at the Forbes Center via the phone and at the window.
Process returns and exchanges.
Prepare sales reconciliations.
Provide courteous service for all ticket inquiries from student and community members while also providing a high level of fiscal confidentiality.
Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance when conducting sales for any event.
Update mailing lists, do data entry.
Other duties as assigned.


Customer service experience including phone and in person sales.
Excellent communication skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Calm under pressure. Ability to work without the benefit of manager supervision.
Appreciation of the arts is a plus.

Conditions of Employment

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
